The event “Blockchain in International Trade” is organized by ECLAC, the Ibero-American Blockchain and Cybersecurity Network (RIBCI), and the Institute of International Studies (IEI) of the University of Chile, as a forum for dialogue and reflection on the potential of blockchain technology to facilitate international trade and strengthen regional and global cooperation. Within the framework of the Blockchain for Trade Facilitation Project of the United Nations regional commissions and UNCTAD, ECLAC will present experiences and advances aimed at improving competitiveness, innovation, and sustainability through the use of blockchain in customs and trade operations. RIBCI, which brings together more than 200 members in 32 research groups, will contribute its perspective on how this technology and cybersecurity can contribute to inclusive and sustainable industrialization in Ibero-America. For its part, the IEI will share perspectives from its Technological and Digital Governance Program, promoting an interdisciplinary analysis based on sustainability, human rights and a multi-stakeholder governance model.
